"Sure, I Got a Right to Carry A Gun" Political Cartoon ink drawing

1915. Harry D. Murphy. Murphy (1880-1973) was an "artist and political cartoonist for the Hearst papers in Chicago from 1913 to 1929. He lived in La Jolla from the 1920s until his death in 1973," and is probably the same artist who did political cartoons during World War II for the San Diego Union, based on his hometown of La Jolla.

Stamped on the back is "Chicago Herald & Examiner Aug 24, 1928." The title in pencil below the image is "Friday Night's Street" and above, in fainter pencil, "His Credentials."

Well executed pen and ink with a bold message. Lightly soiled at the outer blank margin, with moderate soiling on the rear side. Image size 11 1/2" x 8" Very Good. Item #27977
